The Antigen Rapid Test is approved for samples taken from the nose or nasal pharynx. For children the sample is taken just a few centimeter inside the nose by gently sweeping the inside of each nostril 5 times. This method is painless and usually just tickles. For adults the sample is taken deeper inside the nasal cavity (nasopharynx) by gently inserting a thin swab into one nostril until it reaches the back of the nasal cavity. Though most find the test uncomfortable, the test only takes a few moments and our staff are very careful to make it as painless as possible.
